Further to this post.
I took the HOME XP on the notebook tonight and upgraded
to XP Pro thinking that a total redo might fix this. NOT.
I too have done ipconfig/release /renew to this
countless time even prior to tonight and still the same
thing. I've changed workgroup names, machine names,
bridged, unbridged.... ALL the built in firewalls are
OFF. All the settings are set to obtain automatically.
And when you enter windows explorer and try to view the
network you get a long delay.. Then it shows the
workgroup name(in the case SHARK) and then clicking on
the group gets a longer delay saying you don't have
permission to view or access.
Is there a TOTAL reset button in here!
