Hi,

I'm new to Windows XP (Home Edition-Service Pack 1) and I
use Bell Sympatico High Speed Internet Service (Ontario,
Canada).

I want to be able to get my computer to automatically
launch the Bell Sympatico H.S. Internet "Access Manager"
program, connect to the Bell Sympatico ISP "system", &
then launch "Microsoft Internet Explorer" to a home web
page of my choosing. I want this to happen automatically,
right after my computer is first powered-on & done
booting-up/loading all other start-up programs...each and
every time.

Can this be done? If so, please explain in detail how
this can be done. Would I have to
modify "BOOT.INI" ?...or use "msconfig" ?...etc...

Thanks very much for your help,
M.D.

F.Y.I. : I know that the Bell Sympatico H.S. "Access
Manager" program uses (or works in conjunction with) the
built-in broadband connection (WAN Miniport PPPoE)
already built-in to the networking aspect of Windows XP.

I hope this helps and is clear to understand.

Hi Mike,

Configure the system to connect automatically when prompted for an =
internet connection (Control Panel/Internet Options/connection tab), =
then put a shortcut to the page you want to open in your startup folder =
here:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Hi Rick,

Thanks for your reply. However, I don't think I know how
to do what you suggest. When I click the CONNECTION tab,
what do I do from there? Please be specific & detailed
with the instructions.

I'm going to email you a picture taken (scanned) from my
Bell Sympatico H.S. Internet Edition User's Manual. This
picture (page) will describe to you, what I want to do
with the Bell Sympatico "Access Manager" program, using
WINDOWS XP instead of WINDOWS 98.

Thanks so much for all your help. I appreciate it very
much.

Best regards,
Mike D.
