Is there any equivalent in cmd.exe to DOS's 'deltree' --
enabling one to recursively delete a directory and all of
its subdirectories & files?
Thanks.

Open XP's "Help and Support" and type: DELTREE , and hit enter.
Click on the topic: "New ways to do familiar tasks".

Michael,
Try RD /S This is XP's directory remover.
Deltree still works and can be copied from Win98 if you still have that
disk.
Just copy it into - windows\system32 directory.
