How to restore the address bar drop down display on internet

Can anyone tell me how to restore the display of recent
websites on the Address bar.I used to click on it and a
list would drop down, then I used to click on that and
would be able to revisit frequently used websites.
Recently I hid my tracks and must have altered a setting
of some kind.

open internet explorer, click 'tools', 'internet options', click the
'content' tab. in the 'personal information' box-click 'auto complete', make
sure you have 'web addresses' checked, click 'ok', close al browser windows,
then reopen browser. if this is already checked off you can use 'tweak ui
for XP' to set this option and many others. download here,

, after install, click 'start', 'programs', 'tweak ui'. click 'explorer' tab
and check 'clear document history on exit'.
