For some reason unknown to me I receive often a "Runtime
Error" message and a question whether I want to debug or
not. The debug process seems to be complicated and gets
me nowhere.

Is there an explanation for the "Runtime Error" message
which sometimes cancels whatever I have written by WORD
to that point and how do I debug, whatever that means? I
am using XP Home.

Henry, are you developing and scripted documents? If no, there is no reason
for you to debug. Strongly suggest turning the Office debugging tool off.
