Hi,
I'm trying to network our new win xp to an older (but
updated) win 95 machine. They will exchange files between
them but I cant access the internet from the 95 machine
(the client). The XP machine logs on fine.I made a Network
setup wizard disc from the host but get an error when
loading it in the cliant that says it only supports 98-
98se- millennium- and xp. How can I get it to load on the
win 95 machine? Will this fix my problem? Thanks for all
your help. Greg

As you've discovered, XP's setup wizard disk won't run on Win 95.
Fortunately, it isn't necessary to run it. You can make the network
settings manually:

1. Enable Internet Connection Sharing on win XP as shown here:

Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics

2. On Win 95, configure the TCP/IP properties to obtain an IP address
automatically, then reboot.

If you assign as static IP address to Win 95 instead, make these
settings:

IP Address: 192.168.0.x (1<x<255)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS Server = 192.168.0.1
