Connecting to the network / internet

[Matt *****]

We just bought a Sony va10 laptop (windows xp) and added
it to our W2K server (network). As soon as we plug in the
LAN line none of the computers on the network including
the laptop can access the internet. Connecting to the
network is fine, all files and workgroup are o.k. It's
just the internet that won't work.

Any ideas??

p.s the firewall in XP has been disabled.

Check this to see if this is the problem, Go to network connections and if
there is a dialup connection there delete it and reboot the system and see
if it connect to the net then. If so call Microsoft and start a case on it I
have two that are doing it and for the last 4 weeks have been unable with
Microsoft's help to resolve it. Let me know if this is in fact your problem.
