View Full Version : Using the Xcopy command with the EXCLUDE parameter

The XCOPY command below doesn't work, because I can't
figure out how to use
the "EXCLUDE" thingamabobbee.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

xcopy k:\data\*.*
f:\server\data /D/EXCLUDE:tmw/F/E/V/C/H/R/K/I/Y

I want to exclude (from the xcopy) the directories:
K:\data\Programs\TMW4
and
K:\data\Programs\TMW4e
and
K:\data\Programs\TMWSpecialDates

By the way, TMW4, TMW4e and TMWSpecialDates are all
subdirectories under K:\data\programs

Why doesn't the command (above) work?
and what needs to be done to make it work?

I'd be pleased to pay someone for solving this problem.
(Please tell me if it's impermissible to offer payment
for help, in a posting on the newsgroup.)

Thanks for any input.

You may want to try the more powerful and free XXCopy
(http://www.xxcopy.com)
