View Full Version : How can I Use Dos after XP Installed?

I have 2 Drives formatted NTFS and 1 FAT32. I am using a Win98 startup disk
to access my FAT32 partition to run some basic backup programs and file
editing. Is there a way I can use my XP Boot menu to get to DOS instead of
selecting my computer to boot from my Win 98 startup floppy disk?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,
Mo

No. Windows XP does not include DOS.

Mo,

WinXP has a DOS emulator and some/most programs will work by just opening a
Command Window (go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt). Try
it and see if it will run your programs properly.

If not, as you were told WinXP does not have "real DOS" in it since DOS has
NO security and WinXP is designed on the WinNT Security Model. [In which
case, what you are currently doing is the best you can do.]
