Open Network Connections, right click on your Internet connection and choose
Properties. From the Options tab, change Idle Time Before Hanging Up.

If you mean the even stupider one.
In IE, Tools - Internet Options - Connection - <choose one> - Settings - =
Advanced - Disconnect When Connection May No Longer be Needed.
You must have a lot of cash to waste.

All phone calls cost money in Australia - no such thing as a free local =
call. So connection fees are substantial,=20
On the upside I can call in very large areas for 15c flat including all =
ISPs and we tend to a 5 hour kick off on internet accounts. So it makes =
sense to stay connected for the full 5 hours.
I also won't troubleshoot anything that requires a reboot as it cost me =
15c per reboot. And I won't pay that to solve someone else's problems.
I also won't download updates. As excess bandwidth is charged at 20c per =
MByte (probably per MiByte). I want a thing from MS web site (about =
400Mb) but the excess charges would be $80.00 or I'd have to not answer =
questions for a month.
