Need Help - Did My Linksys Router Fail

Windows XP Pro LAN running 3 computers with a cable modem and router.

This morning I discovered I could not access the Internet unless I bypassed
the router and connected the NIC card directly into the cable modem.

I also cannot access the router setup program via 198.162.1.1. I've tried to
power down and reset the router but still no luck.

Suggestions please.

It probably croaked, but try powering down and leaving it off for
a minute; they take a long time to fully reset. Then, watch the
router's LEDs as it powers up to see if they go through the normal
sequence.

There were some comments about Linksys routers being rather susceptible
to power line transients, and I've seen a couple blown (maybe by
A.C. stuff, maybe not)
