I have read all about the compatibity wizard in XP that allows you to =
run software than ran successfully in older versions of Windows. =
However I have a database program that ran fine in Windows 98 that I =
cannot even successfully install onto my new XP machine - and since I =
cannot even install it, I cannot use the compatibility settings to run =
it. Any suggestions on how I can get this installed - they don't make =
the program anymore, there are no upgrades available, and I have over =
7000 records in there that won't convert to anything else.

Hello Tiger,

Two options I can think of.

Set up the program by setting the origional setupup program to win98
compatable.

Find another database program which will read the existing database. Their
are several available of which likely a few would read the existing database
and / or convert the old database files to a format which is readable by the
new program.
