....I encounter the infamous "The specified network name
is no longer available" error when, at console 1, I try
to copy certain files from PC1 to mapped drive \\PC2\.
Problematic files (always the same ones) arrive at PC2
but appear to be corrupt even though the file sizes are
reported as being correct.
However there is no error if,when at console 2, I copy
the same files from mapped drive \\PC1\ to PC2.
Both PCs have the same NICs installed, are connected
with a crossover cable and have fresh (updated)
installations of XP Pro.
PC1 is a newer homegrown AMD XP2000+ with 1Gb sdram.
PC2 is an older Compaq Celeron 300Mhz with 256Mb sdram.
Does anyone have any insight on how to troubleshoot
this issue, as I would like to initiate all file
transfers from console 1.
Thanks.
