Hi

2 questions;

1) I recently installed XP home & now it seems everything is starting to
slow up in responding. especially email & online

40 G HD
256 Ram
1.4 processor

Mcafee in background
No ADS in background

What should be running in background?

2) My serial mouse acting up - what would it take to do a wireless mouse?
cost? or should I do USB?

Thanks

Try going to your task manager and see what program is using the most CPU
time. If it is a background program you can disable it from starting up
using start>run>msconfig. Sometimes a virus can slow down your system
because it is going out over the internet trying to find other computers to
infect. Make sure you have a firewall installed, antivirus software and
windows all updated.
Try uninstalling your mouse driver. You will lose the use of your mouse so
shutdown the computer by using the ctrl-alt-del and then using the tab key
to move the restart key.
When the computer reboots it will reinstall the mouse driver which could
have been corrupted.
