Is the firewall that came with XP home alright to use, or would you
recommend another firewall?
I have Norton AV 2003 installed in case this might help giving me an answer.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Linda,

The native firewall is ok, but only catched incoming traffic. It does =
not monitor outgoing traffic (which can help catch trojans, spyware, =
etc.). It does do a good job of blocking unwanted incoming traffic =
though.

I would like to also recommend ZoneAlarm, it is not only easy to use, but
actually resource friendly than most Firewalls out there, also the free
pop-up blocker that comes w/it is also cool.

Hey "Nutcase",
Why would trojans be such a big deal if a person has a decent AV? I use
Avast by the way. Don't like Norton either. In fact, I stay away from
mainstream any time I can.
Seems as though Adware and spybot would do a good job with the
spyware.................?

Personally, What goes out of my computer is less of a problem to me then
what I don't want coming in.

I just use the XP firewall. I have had some bad experiences with the big
ZA................

Check it out though Linda. To each thier own..........

Regards

WS
