If you want spellchecking you need to have an application installed that has
a spellchecker. XP does not have a built in spellchecker in any of it's
applications like Outlook Express or WordPad. You can purchase a compatible
program like Microsoft Word or install a low cost third party app like the
AutoSpell http://www.spellchecker.com/personal/ which will give
spellchecking capabilities to Outlook Express, WordPad etc.
If you only need spellchecking for Outlook Express this freeware add on will
do the trick http://www.majorgeeks.com/article.php?sid=2952&cat=10 Once
you've installed the app you need to open Outlook Express and go to
Tools->Options then click the Spelling Tab and check the box to enable
spellchecking. (Note that the Spelling Tab is not present if there is no
compatible spellchecker program installed)
