How do I login to my Home Network server from Win XP.
I want to use the login scripts for different computers.
In Windows 2000 the login script is executed but not in
Win XP.

You need to have a domain and the XP machine needs to be part of it.
If this is Win2k or Win2003 server you will need to run DCPROMO. Please
consult the help material on setting up a domain and go through the
checklist before running DCPROMO so you understand the proper steps.
Once you setup the domain you can add the XP machine to the domain.

I have similar problem. My Home Network server has NT 4.0. There is no
problem with logging to domain with win98 clients (also with executing logon
script), but I cant loggon to DOMAIN with WinXP client. I can loggon to
Workgroup, but that's not it...
What could be wrong?

What did you do to make the XP client a domain client

1. You need XP Pro to log into a domain.
2. You need to joint the domain. In XP Pro, check the My Computer
Properties.

In the MyComputer/Properties/ComputerName/Change ... I set up the domain
name that works on Win98. There I didnt get the usual "Welcome to the
domain" message, so I was forced to use workgroup.
I tried this several times, and one time I managed to keep the correct
DOMAIN name (if I look at this setting everything looks OK).
From that day I spotted this message on main server:
"
The session setup from the computer SIMON failed to authenticate. The name
of the account referenced in the security database is SIMON$. The following
error occurred:
Access is denied.
"
The account on main server was used before for my old system with Win98.
Then I replaced it with WinXP.
Later I thought that might be some problems with that account because it was
used with Win98, so I created different new one
for testing, but result was the same.
So there must be some progress, but I am still not there. Any ideas.
Thanks,
Simon

Make sure you have the "Windows Networking Client" installed.
