I need to know how to up obtain an updated version of
virtual machine. I would like to down load java but can
not because my version of virtual machine needs updating.
how do I do this please.

Microsoft Virtual Machine can still be downloaded here:

One thing that Sun Java does not work with is Yahoo Chat. Unknown if
anything else may not work.
