View Full Version : Dialup Connections Missing

All of my dialup connections are missing. If I add new
dialup connections, when I return to the list of network
connections, they have all disappeared. If I create a
shortcut of a dialup connection to my desktop, it stays
and works fine, but once connected to the internet, the
modem icon in the system tray does not appear and there
is no other way that I can disconnect from the internet.
I have checked to ensure that the Default Impersonation
is set to Identify instead of Anonymous.

What else can I try to get my dialup conenctions to
display and to get the modem connected icon to appear in
the system tray?

Have you been uninstalling then reinstalling the modem? Check on that.

Haven't touched the modems. I was going to try maybe re-
installing the modem but wasn't sure if that would bring
back the dialup connections? Should I try re-installing
the modem?

Im not sure to be honest, I used to have problems with old DUN connections
if I removed a modem then reinstalled it .
All Ive been able to find is the following microsoft knowledgebase article
that mentions missing DUN. Give it a look.

Are any LAN connections missing? You should have one icon for every Network
Adapter entry in Device Manager.

A missing LAN connection can cause RAS connections not to show.
