i am helping someone who has a none server based network
in their small b office (i am only a novice when it comes
to this stuff and only know the basics) . . . this
morning one of the computers dropped off the network and
we cant get it back onto the network . . . i have tried
recreating the network connection a couple of times which
hasnt worked

Don't know what you mean by "none server network" but more details on the
issue would help - what is the error message - how did you determine that
the cmputer dropped off the network (ping or browsing or ??) and how are
you recreating the network connection - Is it a RAS (dialup/vpn connection)
or are you removing the Network card and re-adding it back?
