I am using Windows XP Pro clients on a Windows 2000 AD Domain. Is there
anyway I can have XP notify my users when a domain controller is not found
upon logon? NT would do this by default and 2000 would do this with a Reg
Hack. (See KB242536) Can this be done with XP?

Hi

Have you tried to add this registry value to a WinXP computer to see what
happens?

Yes, trying the obvious first did not make a difference.

Hi Brock,

Per the development team, this feature was intentionally removed from XP
due to usability issues and there are no plans to reinstate it.

The behavior is by design.

Thanks for using Microsoft News Group!
