Removal from Add/Remove

How can I remove a listing in add/remove of a programme
no longer installed on my computer without reloading said
programme (it came with a load of crap that has taken me
ages to clear out !)?

Double-click the entry in the list. You will be prompted for if you
want to remove the software. Vote "Yes" and you will get another
prompt aout that the deinstallation failed and if you want to remove
the entry.
