Recently wiped my HD clean and installed XP-H. Was able to
load several programs via Control Panel 'Adding Software'
via CDROM. Now I have been unable to load or remove
software either using command from Control Panel or
launching setup file. Installation wizard starts but CD
doesn't run up and eventually times out. Thanks in advance.

Hi Ed,
Tried clearing the temp folder yet? Delete the contents of these folders =
after rebooting:
C:\Windows\temp
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp
Then turn off your antivirus software before retrying any installation. =
Incidentally, you don't need to use Add & Remove to install new =
software, it's usually better to simply insert the install media and =
allow it to autorun.
