I know this is a dumb question, but I am a novice at
this, and I cannot seem to get an answer to my question
by searching the phrase "spell check".

I am creating documents using Windows XP Notepad software.

How do I get this software to do what was called "Spell
Check" in the Microsoft WORD software?

Neither the Notepad or WordPad programs have a spell check feature.
You'll need to purchase and install Microsoft Word, Works or Office
to have this feature.

There is a free spell checker at the following address:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/article.php?sid=2952&cat=10

After you download it, use the Start, Run line to activate it.

Good Luck,
Jerry
