Sometimes you can disable it in the bios.

Why?
Or perhaps what are your referring to as the system beep. If your are
referring to beeps that can occur as your system conducts initial tests,
than the beeps indicate a problem that you should fix. Check your system
manual or OEM support.
If your are referring to beeps that occur after Windows loads, go to Control
Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, Sounds tab and set the event sound you do
not like to none.
If you would very kindly consider to, with all the grace you can muster,
tell us when the sound occurs; more specific directions could be supplied.

I am getting a beep like a watch beep at the same time every day (thought it
was my timex but put watch downstairs) for about 30 seconds. Is there some
way I can trace where that is coming from. I do have a cable modem SB4100
but with my hearing I can't tell if its coming from modem or computer. Am
using Windows XP Home. This has only started to occur within last month and
I have not put any new applications on.
TIA
