If I understand you correctly, your music is already in a
file and you simply want to write it to a CD? In using
Windows Media Player to do so it then changes the file
association to WMA? I guess I don't understand why you are
using the Media Player to copy files to a CD. Right click
the file and then click the send to and then the
appopriate drive. This will open your Roxio CD burning
utiltity and then it will write them as their original
extensions and formats. Whether audio or video files you
don't need Windows Media Player to burn anything to a CD.
You may even uninstall it if you like and get a better
player. Roxio Easy CD Creator is the actual writing
program that XP uses. Good luck.
