Why can't I join a domain?

I really don't get it ... :( ...

Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the
same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed.
Disconnect all previous connections to the server or
shared resource and try again.

Win XP Pro can join a Domain but Win XP Home cannot also you
have not mentioned what version of window that your running
