opening attachments in word

Since installing my new system I have been unable to read
and attachments to my email in the word format. I get a
message which indicated that access to such messages has
been barred to protect my computer. How cn I switch this
thing off.

PS
I am not a computer buff so any reply needs to be in
simple English

HI ya
In outlook express go to tools, Options, in the window click the security
tab then uncheck the :do not allow attachments to be saved or opened: Box.
that should solve it.
