I'm currently a Windows98SE user desiring to upgrade to
either XP or 2000. Would either be considered superior to
working with Office 2000 Pro or older Windows software?
Thanks.

Sorry, I don't understand your question. An operating system
can't be superior to an Office suite; they're two different
things and can't be compared that way.

If you're asking whether Windows 2000 or Windows XP works better
with Office 2000, it makes very little difference. I prefer
Windows XP since it's the newer and better of the two operating
systems, but the difference isn't enormous.

Greetings --

Before proceeding, you should ensure that all the PC's components
are capable of supporting WinXP. This information will be found at
each of the PC's component's manufacturer's web sites, and on
Microsoft's Hardware Compatibility List:
(http://www.microsoft.com/hcl/default.asp). Computer components
designed for use with Win9x/Me very often fail to meet WinXP's much
more stringent hardware quality requirements. This is particularly
true of many models in Compaq's consumer-class Presario product line
or HP's Pavilion product line..

Can you obtain WinXP-specific device drivers for your PC's
components, and any necessary motherboard BIOS updates? Additionally,
you can download and run Microsoft WinXP Upgrade Advisor to see if you
have any incompatible hardware components or applications.
