View Full Version : "Routing" applications through specific network connections?

I have two ADSL routers, each with their own ADSL connection.

My XP Pro PC is connected to both routers, one via a wireless adapter, and
one through an ethernet cable (although the wireless one is currently
unavailable - but this is a config issue I need to correct).

Is it possible to tell Windows to "route" a specific applications network
traffic through one connection and all other applications through another?

Also, when the specific applications aren't in use, is it then possible to
use both connections at the same time to effectively double my connection
speeds?

Any pointers to sites with info, or personal experiences in achieving this?

Ta,
S.

Hi Simon,

No you cannot route specific applications through one connection and others
through another connection and no you cannot use two connections to double
your connection speed.
What you can do is set up routes to pass all traffic destined for a
specific host or subnet through a designated connection. If your
application connects to a specific host, you could use a host route to
accompish this.

Thanks Marc, I'll try the host routes, as I can probably achieve part of
what I want using these.
