I am curretnly trying to sign up to AOL using my home
phone line. I have managed to sign up OK and can sign in
to AOL and browse their shortcuts fine. I cannot search
for URLs or use their search function though - making my
internet connection with them almost useless. After many
support calls to them they say that I have a "netsh"
problem with Windows XP and to contact my vendor.

Can anyone help?

Hi,

Did they tell you that you "need to use netsh" to do something to fix the
problem? Netsh is just a config tool for XP netwokring. If netsh wasn't
working right it would have no effect on your ablity to access things on
the Internet. I would recommend you contact AOL and ask them for exact
instructions.

Things to check - can you ping websites by IP address? by name? Can you
test a Internet connection other than AOL - does it work?
