Hi. I'm using Windows XP Home on a workgroup, and I want
to share my files with only a few members of the
workgroup, not everyone. Can anyone please enlighten me
on how could this be done?

Currently, I've been doing so: I password protect my user
account, I share the folder which I want, then I boot
into Safe Mode with Networking, and remove Everyone from
the Permissions List, and put my User Account in the
permissions list.

However, this doesn't work, because once I remove
Everyone from the permissions list, every access to that
shared folders will be denied (I logged into another
Windows 98 computer using the same username and password
I used in Windows XP Home, and tried to access the shared
folder on my Windows XP Home computer, but everytime I'll
get the access denied message). I then found out from the
Security Event Viewer that, every computer who logs on to
my computer is treated as a Guest. Therefore, once
Everyone has been removed from the permission list,
Guests cannot access the folder anymore.

Is there a solution to this? I read about password-
protecting the Guest account, can that be accomplished?
Or must I upgrade to Windows XP Pro to be able to do so?
