How to make a system disk (Windows XP Pro, not DOS)

I have a second hard drive (D) installed on my computer. I
have been told that if my C drive gets fried, I can get my
D drive up and running by using a boot disk (system disk).
Can you tell me how to make one?

I tried using the Backup and Restore Wizard, where it
gives you the option to make a system recovery disk, but
it seems to want you to use floppies to copy your entire
computer (!!!), and I just want to make the system
recovery disk. Is there a way to do just that?

Hi Susan,

I believe the " System Disk " which you are speaking of is the XP CD insall
disk itself.

The Six disk install set from the sight mentioned by Lloyd produces an
emergency set of six floppy disks which will work if your CD drive is not
working.

If your C drive " Gets Fried " you can boot from the windows xp cd install
disk. Just put it in the cd drive and reboot. When it asks you to press any
key to boot from CD. Than do. Just follow the prompts from there.

The six floppy disks simply duplicate this function.
