View Full Version : Destination Host Unreachable

I don't know why this is happening.

"Destination Host Unreachable"
I get this error when I try to ping a local IP (my home
dsl router - 192.168.2.1 in my case).

ping 127.0.0.1 is fine.

When I go to the network control panel and try to 'repair'
the connection I get the following error:

The following steps of the repair operation failed:
Renewing the IP address

Please contact you neetwork administrator or ISP
</error>

needless to say, i AM the network administrator.

Please help with any ideas.

The ping is failing because your computer is unable to get an IP
address from the router. Since your computer doesn't have an IP
address in the 192.168.2.x subnet, it can't reach a host (your router)
that does. Here are some tips that might help solve the problem:
