Toshiba PCMCIA Hard Drive not recognized

I have used a Toshiba PCMCIA Hard Drive (HDD1232CZP01)
with Windows 2000 successfully. Inserting the card in my
new XP machine, it recognizes the card, but when I use
other applications (such as my CompuServe ISP or LapLink)
the PC card hard drive is no longer recognized.

Does someone know the reason and what can be done about
the incompatability?
