Wally;
Microsoft is removing Microsoft Virtual Machine from its websites and
stopping distribution because of a court order:
http://www.microsoft.com/java/

You can download Sun Java here:
http://java.sun.com/getjava/

Duh!

Microsoft "already" has removed it from their site, as has been for =
months now. The only version available is the security update version =
3810, which will show up in Windows Updates if one has the (a) previous =
MS Virtual machine installed already.

Silly You;
And that update is still there, but will soon be removed.

Duh again,

That update will be there until MS releases their version of Java =
(supposedly Jan. 2004). But that update doesn't show if one doesn't have =
the VM originally, and isn't the same thing to what Wally inquired. But =
that doesn't cover the fact that the original VM has been removed a long =
time ago, which is what you stated as "being removed in progress".Wally =
asked how to "install Virtual Machine". You stated it was being removed =
as it being still available, until removal is finalized.

Don't try to mince words, when you clearly ****ed up! VM is no longer =
available, but the security patch for it is, if you have the previous =
version already installed, and that CANNOT be installed without the =
former already installed!

Minced words?
Clearly you are off on something.
You crude language tells much of your character.
Goodbye.

Good,

But I'd be wary of one with MVP initials who posts such ****, that isn't =
possible. If you are going to wear those initials as a badge of honor, =
at least get ****ing up to date with what MS does!

microsoft has already removed their own version of the java virtual machine
from the internet. there are some sites which are not connected with
microsoft however, who continue to allow the download of the software.

on the other hand, if you have xp sp1 (and not sp1a) you have a copy of the
last version of the ms java virtual machine. 1a does not.

as for the updates, the latest windows security update (q818529) has an
update for the microsoft java virtual machine but one needs to have an
existing ms java virtual machine already.

dennis
