How to uninstall a network adapter

I have a network adapter on my system that is not
physically attacthed anymore. When I try to uninstall
from the Device Manager, I get the following
message: "Failed to uninstall the device. The device may
be required to boot up the computer."

How do I uninstall this adapter?

Try reinstalling the drivers, then uninstall them.
