View Full Version : How do I repair IE6?

I had a problem with pop ups and had to use a reg cleaner, since then I find
sometimes I cannot close the Internet Explorer window, it just sits there.
If I CTRL ALT DEL I can end it, but no other way.

I am sure I saw a post ages ago about how XP Pro can repair itself, is that
correct? If so, can someone give me some idea what I can do?

In the old days of Win 98 I would just re-install windows over itself, but I
guess those days are gone with XP?

Many thanks

Graham

Registry cleaners are terrible, and XP does a great job at handling old =
registry entries regarding programs not in use anymore. Try using System =
Restore to a point before you had this issue.. Otherwise, you'll need to =
do a repair install.

Thanks Bruce for the link.

I did notice today that when I cannot close a web page and CTRL ALT DEL my
CPU usage is showing 99% by IEXPLORER. Does this explain what is happening
to anyone expert out there???

Thanks again

Graham
