restoring files lost

I just tried to install win off 2000 powerpoint on a win
xp comp. it corrupted my word files and email. i
uninstalled windows 2000 office and that process
eradicated my outlook desktop, and email program.

all i want to do is delete the 2000 version of office off
the machine and restore my xp version intact.

There is no such thing as Windows 2000 Office, any more than there's Windows
XP Office or Windows 95 Office. Sounds to me like you installed it to the
same folder as XP, which is just asking for trouble. Simply reinstall Office
XP from the Office XP disc.
