G'day Linda,
The principle of having a return email address would be
that whomever chose to send you advise would be able to
assist further (if they knew how) if you were having
problems implementing the instructions provided to you for
the initial problem. Considering that ppl leave fake
emails could possibly mean that the information given is
missleading (don't quote me, just my paronoia). Best
practice would be to SET A 'SYSTEM RESTORE POINT' before
installing new software or changing settings. To do this
go Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System
Restore. This is good practice & I've had to use this
numerous times LOL.
Sh** more to the point... there is some software you can
buy to stop spam, me I just prefer to use my yahoo email
account because they've got software on their server which
I use. It cost nothing, takes up zero space on my hard
disk & most importantly it's simplistic to use having no
heavy Tech Jargon.
If I had read your queery first I may not have used my
real email either. But I figure that the spam blocker on
my email account would filter it anyhow... oh you have to
recieve it before you can block it NOT NECCESSARY TO OPEN
& READ THE SPAM. BLA LA BLA BLA, hmmm Dr. got anything
for this verbal diarrhoea LOL.
Cya Linda Best of luck in your PC society,
Sinfully Phil.
P.S. There are some right prats out there in society,
they're to be either ignored or reported. The internet is
like letting the world into your living-room. Just like
walking down the street you should be warry but not afraid
of people you meet. I've got Virus protection & a
Firewall installed on my PC. Though I don't implement
these to the best of there capabilities (because I only
read User Manuals when something goes wrong) he hehe. They
have both stopped viruses & hackers on numerous occations.
