network connections

[GWC]

I am using DSL and everytime I shut down, XP loses my DSL
broadband connection & I have to re-enter this info
everytime.

When I input my info and use the same name for my
connection name the system says it already exists try
another name. I look in the network connections folder
and I see nothing.

Suggestions?
