Up grading to WinXp

I have an OEM version of Windows 98 pre installed on my
computer. I am Trying to up grade to Win Xp Home using the
Win Xp Home Upgrade CD. I Keep getting the error msg
saying that Cannot copy files from D:\I386 and the setup
terminates saying setup cannot continue Error 5CCFF58H.
Can any one help PLEASE...........

If the PDC was purchased with Win98 pre-installed, it's fairly
old, now, in computer terms.

Before proceeding, you should ensure that all the PC's components
are capable of supporting WinXP. This information will be found at
each of the PC's component's manufacturer's web sites, and on
Microsoft's Hardware Compatibility List:
(http://www.microsoft.com/hcl/default.asp). Computer components
designed for use with Win9x/Me very often fail to meet WinXP's much
more stringent hardware quality requirements. This is particularly
true of many models in Compaq's consumer-class Presario product line
or HP's consumer-class Pavilion product line.

Can you obtain WinXP-specific device drivers for your PC's
components, and any necessary motherboard BIOS updates? Additionally,
you can download and run Microsoft WinXP Upgrade Advisor to see if you
have any incompatible hardware components or applications:
