taskbar icon

My windows update icon is gone from my taskbar. Anyone know how to reinstall
it?

it will come back as updates are found. this is what ive found to be. later

As has already been pointed out, there is probably nothing wrong.

Just to be sure, though, go to Control Panel.

If you're in Classic View, double-click "System"
If you're in Category View, go to "Performance and Maintenance" and then
"System"

Now click the "Automatic Updates" tab to make sure AutoUpdate is enabled.

Also, you can always manually check to see if you're up-to-date by going to
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.
