installing xp

i had ME then upgraded to XP. the husband didn't like it,
so we uninstalled it and went back to ME. however, now
we'd like to go back to XP but when we try to reinstall
it, it says that we have more than one OS. i thought we
uninstalled XP before. either way, how can we get back to
XP? any help..and step-by-step, seeing as we're totally
lost..would be great.

Since we have no way of knowing how you uninstalled and whats left on =
your machine a brand new install with a format of the HD might be in =
order.This however requires that you have a copy of ME on CD for =
verification purposes during the XP install.This also will erase =
everything off your hard drive...so you need to back up all important =
work and gather all of your program disks together for a reinstall.
