RPC ?

Im not sure where i should be posting this, but anyhow..
Every time i connect to the internet using my 56k modem,
windows comes up with a message screen with 'The remote
procedure Call was terminated unexpectidly, windows must
shutdown.... from NT Authority/System..' it gives me
exactly a minute to save my stuff before it restarts. Its
annoying because i only get a certain amount of time on
the internet, and i am paying for the times i connect.
Someone please explain what this means and how i can fix
this problem.
