Running XP home on a Dell P4. I tried to install a new
program from a commerically purchased CD - tried both
drives, one is a DVD-CD, the other is a CD-RW, both doing
the same thing. Whether the disk auto-runs or if I use
the run bar to type Drive:\setup.exe, Windows tries to
setup adobe photoshop. I verified the disk in another
machine with no problem. I tried to uninstall adobe
photoshop from the machine, but the uninstall file was
corrupt. I then tried to manually uninstall photoshop,
but that didn't help. I deleted photshop, and then adobe
itself, then used a registry cleaner to remove references
to adobe, but the symptom is still the same. i searched
the hard drive and cannot find adobe photoshop anywhere,
yet, if i try to install the purchased program, windows
still launches adobe photoshop setup! Any suggestions on
how I can get windows to point to the right setup
program? Any idea how i can install photoshop even when
I've deleted the program from my hard drive? When I
searched for adobe, "show hidden files" is selected.
Where could this program be launching from? Thanks.
