I'm going to give you two ways to clean up and speed up
your computer. #1 Go to www.everythingcomputers.com and
click on the blue highlighted "troubleshooting Resources"
page. When you get to that page you will scroll down
until you come to the blue highlighted "Windows Startup".
Click on the blue "programs that run in the background".
Under the Introduction click on the blue "Programs". To
the right of the page you will see Y,N,U and X. Write
these down on a piece of paper. Next you will click on
the blue "All items". Here you will see all the different
start up items from NUM to Z with the Y,N,U or X on the
left which tells you if your computer needs it or not.
Keep this window open and now click on the green start in
the lower left of your screen. Then click on run and type
in msconfig and click OK. Then click the "start up" tab
and you will see the list of things running on your
computer. If the box is checked then it is running. Start
at the top and match the start up item and/or command to
the list. If it has an X next to it then you can uncheck
it. Follow the key for Y,N and U. If your computer allows
you to uncheck several of these then this should speed up
your computer. I'll wait to see if you respond in the
reply and then give you step #2 to speed up your computer.
