how can i read chinese in xp

i bought a pc yesterday,how can i read chinese,or how to
add chinese lanuage??I try to add it in regional
options ,but i got a message-TYPE THE PATH WHERE THE FILE
IS LOCATED AND THEN CLICK OK[cplexe.exe file on window xp
home edition need service pack 1 cd]please some body help

It is unclear what you want. Do you want the operating system to
display Chinese characters in its user interface or do you want to
be able to view Chinese character web pages? If you want the
former, you have to have the Chinese language version of Windows XP.
If you want the latter, you can download various language viewing
and editing packages for Internet Explorer from the Windows Update
site. Go to news:microsoft.public.windowsupdate for more help on
getting updates manually.

There are also packages for the Microsoft Office Suites but they are
not free unless you have the multi-language version of the suite.

Go to Start Menu and then look for Windows Update. Let MS scan your computer
for updates. See if anything to do with "language" appears in the suggested
updates. If that does not fix your problem--the odds are it won't--then go
to www.njstar.com and get NJStar Communicator. This program will allow you
to read and write in Chinese. It is also very easy to install and set up.
