Is it activated?

How can I tell if my XP has been activated or not? I
don't recall activating it, but I don't have an activate
option under tools, and I haven't gotten any messages
about activating it. How can I tell for certain if it has
been activated or not?

If your bought your computer with XP pre-installed then it was activated by
the manufacturer. If you installed it yourself from a retail, not OEM CD,
then you will see messages everyday telling you how many of the 30 days you
have left before the activation period runs out. If you are not seeing these
messages then your copy of XP has been activated.

If you/really/ want to be sure, Start > Run and type 'winver' no quotes. If
it hasn't been activated it will tell you there.
