View Full Version : No Logon Screen @ boot up.

I just installed Windows XP Professional over 2000 Pro
last night. It works GREAT! My only issue is when XP boots
up, it will boot straight into my desktop. I really don't
want it to do that. I've created User Accounts for my
wife, son and daughter.
How can I adjust the boot sequence to stop and show their
Account Names all-in-one screen so they can just 'click'
on their names and login to their own desktop?

At Start > Run type
CONTROL userpasswords2
and press ENTER. Check "Users must enter...."

When I tried this process, it works.
But the whole screen became empty except Recycle Bin on the screen.

Thanks.
I will try. That has to do with my home computer.
It is my feeling that "control userpasswords2" allows me to skip user' logon
but prompts to open a blank screen for administrator. I might be wrong.
Thanks.

For additional help: "How to Configure Windows XP to Automatically Log
On a User Account" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=282866). You
should be able to find out how to reverse the settings with the help
of the article.
